This collection consists of personal papers of the Townsend and Stanton families of New Orleans, La. Included are literary manuscripts, correspondence to and from publishers and others, published works, financial papers, newspaper clippings, autographs, printed invitations and other social stationery, death notices, and scrapbooks. Actual official documents, as well as faux-official Carnival krewe documents, are both represented within the collection.
